The Power of the Purse!

This off-beat shoulder bag was created at the request of the

Community Foundation of Western North Carolina

for their first annual Women's Fund fundraiser.

The bag was made with faux purple leather and patterned oil cloth, and decorated with pennies enameled in bright transparent colors sewn onto both sides.

"Eve's Epiphany"

This pendant was made as a companion piece for

"The Seven Facets of Adam"

Eve is a cloisonné jewel executed in 24K gold and set in 22K gold riveted to sterling silver. She wears a Ruby cabochon, and a Black Star Sapphire navette enhances her bail.

Eve's epiphany came about when she awoke to the fact that Adam, forever the adolescent, had invented an incredible story to divert attention away from her graces in order to gain credence for his own avarice....which, of course, has always been insatiable. How could she imagine that such an insidious plan would stupefy humankind for millennia ?

The moral of the story....Eat More Apples!

"Cozy's Cozmic Cluster"

This magical pendant was created for the Queen of Kaleidoscopes,

Cozy Baker.

Cozy asked me to design a wearable scope in her favorite colors, so I chose a Drusy Quartz Crystal and Freshwater Peacock Pearls in shades of aqua and violet, and I enameled the case with complimentary hues and iridescent lavender luster. Cozy's Cozmic Cluster will be part of an exhibition of wearable kaleidoscopes in Cozy's personal collection.

"The Seven Facets of Adam"

This contemporary cloisonné bracelet was created for a remarkable woman, entrepreneur, collector, cyber gallery owner and friend. Each of the seven cloisonné faces reflects an emotion which can be easily identified, but with a personal spin. 22K yellow gold was used for the cloisonné faces, and the bracelet is hand fabricated from a combination of 22K and sterling silver, with a blue sapphire embellishing the catch.

" Volunteers Are Love "

I created this piece for the Lewis Rathbun Center in Asheville, North Carolina to commemorate the work of their volunteers. The Center is a place where people who are ill, or who have loved ones in the local hospitals, can stay for free.

"Volunteers" measures 28 inches square, and is made with vitreous enamels, wire mesh, aluminum, copper, and painted wood.

"LEUCADIA"

Commissioned by a California friend some years back...."Leucadia" is named after a favorite So. Cal. beach town.

Cloisonné of fine silver wires & vitreous enamel---Sterling brooch, fabricated and embellished with a 12mm peach colored moonstone.

" The Bride "

This ring was designed to utilize the clients personal past talismans of marriage, which included bands of both white & yellow gold, and a beautiful half carat brilliant diamond. The cloisonné is vitreous enamel, fine silver wires on 24K gold with 24K eyes.

" Patti's Parti "

This wonderful cloisonné woman is experiencing a secret pleasure. known only to the client and personal friends. Made for multiple functions, the jewel can be worn as a brooch, a pendant, or a bead "enhancer". The lapis bail is removable and also has a hidden hinge for fitting onto pearls or beads.

Cloisonné of fine silver wires on 24K gold, set in sterling with lapis lazuli & peach moonstone accents. Beads are 8mm lapis, 4mm sterling, and accented with antique, Mardi-gras, green glass beads & peach moonstone saucer beads.

"Laura Loves Frank"

This large ( 40mmx50mm ) cloisonné jewel was made for very dear friends, one of whom was a jeweler. The wires are 24K gold enameled on fine silver, and each hummingbird has twinkling diamond eyes.

" BUNN BUNN # 1 "

This whimsical ring was created by special request for a bunny loving gallery manager. It is made with fine silver wires on 24K gold, and set in sterling with garnet cabochons as accents.

" California Sunrise "

This spectacular necklace was made in loving memory of the Golden State I used to call home. The wise woman who now wears it was also a former Californian seeking to capture forever the ephemeral beauty of a California mountain sunrise. Memories are all that remain for us, the place itself has changed.

The necklace is made from a collection of glass beads chosen to compliment the hues of glass enamel in the cloisonné jewel, which is made with fine silver wires enameled on fine silver. The setting is fabricated with sterling silver and has tiny opals as accents, and an amethyst crystal droplet.

" Smoky Mountain Sojourn "

This fabulous jewel was commissioned by a woman from Alaska who frequently visited the Smokies to hike and enjoy the gentle beauty of the Appalachian Range.

The Jewel is made with fine silver wires on 24K gold and measures approximately 35mmx40mm. It is set as a fabricated sterling silver pendant with cabochons of peridot, labradorite & black opal at the crown, and a droplet of fire agate symbolizing the "resting rock".

 " ISLA "

This tropical treasure was not a commission piece, but the lovely lady who now owns it felt as though it were made especially for her. She was searching for a  perfect commemorative jewel to celebrate her 50 years of marriage when she found Isla, which gracefully symbolized her island wedding memories.

The jewel is made with fine silver wires on fine silver, and luscious transparent colors. It measures approximately 40mmx45mm, and it is set in fabricated sterling silver with a Mexican Matrix Opal crown. It may be worn as either a pendant or a brooch, and the accompanying necklace is made with glass beads which compliment the vibrant colors of the cloisonné.

"Dad & Brandy"

This cloisonné was a gift of love from a father to his daughter upon her graduation from high school.  24K gold wires on 24K gold foil make the vibrant transparent colours shimmer....

The heart design was requested, and the overall design was a collaboration between "Dad" and myself. The piece was set in a hand fabricated 14K gold pendant.
